In a swift move following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has appointed Omobayo Godwin as the new Deputy Governor of the state.
The inauguration ceremony for Omobayo Godwin is slated to take place on Monday at the Edo State Government House in Benin City, where friends and well-wishers have already gathered in anticipation of the swearing-in.
Born on July 19, 1986, Omobayo Godwin hails from Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. At 38 years old, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.
Omobayo holds a B.Eng Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as well as an MSc in Public Administration from the prestigious University of Benin (UNIBEN). His academic background positions him as a seasoned professional in the field of public administration.
He is a registered member of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), underscoring his commitment to professional standards and excellence.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor, Omobayo served as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited, where he honed his skills in operations and management, particularly in the South-South region. His contributions to the company’s success underscore his ability to deliver top-notch services and drive business growth.
