Omowunmi, the wife of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has publicly accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of being an “enemy” to her and her son, Liam.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. His body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, by the police for an autopsy, but the cause of death remained undetermined due to the body’s decomposition.
In a now-deleted post on her Instastory on Wednesday, Omowunmi alleged that Liam’s “greatest enemy” is his grandfather, Joseph Aloba. “Liam’s greatest enemy is his grandfather. Life is funny,” she wrote.

This accusation follows statements by Aloba on the Berekete Family show, where he claimed that Mohbad had questioned Liam’s paternity when the child was five months old.
“On their way to a show, Mohbad and his wife fought over the paternity of that child. Spending and Primeboy overheard their argument,” Aloba stated. “They said there was a serious fight between Mohbad and his wife till daybreak.”
Aloba has refused to rebury his son until a DNA test confirms Liam’s biological father. He suggested that the issue of the DNA test could have contributed to Mohbad’s death.
In another interview, Aloba accused Omowunmi of infidelity and claimed he knew who was responsible for Mohbad’s death.
“Cynthia (Omowunmi) is supposed to be called a liar. There is no single truth that comes out from her. Liam has bowed legs. People started calling my attention to the physical traits of Liam, saying ‘We do not have curved legs in our family. So where did Liam get his curved legs?’”
Aloba said. He added, “I wanted to name the boy Victor. I did not know where they got the name Liam from. Liam is an Islamic name, and we do not have Islamic in my lineage.”
Aloba emphasized that a DNA test must be conducted to confirm if Liam belongs to their bloodline before they can proceed with Mohbad’s reburial.
“If people want to look for who killed Mohbad, they should wait after the DNA test,” he insisted.
