Galatasaray and Kasimpasa played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in an action-packed Turkish Süper Lig encounter at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium.
Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen delivered an impressive performance, scoring twice for the visitors, but his efforts were not enough to secure all three points.
Galatasaray started the game on the front foot, asserting dominance in the early stages. Their persistence paid off in the 11th minute when Osimhen confidently converted a penalty, securing his sixth goal from the spot this season.
The visitors maintained control throughout the first half, limiting Kasimpasa’s attacking threats while holding onto their narrow lead at the break.
The hosts emerged stronger in the second half, turning the tide of the game. Kasimpasa found the equalizer in the 52nd minute through Mortadha Ben Ouanes, shifting the momentum in their favor.
Just nine minutes later, Josip Brekalo struck to put Kasimpasa ahead for the first time, making it 2-1 in the 61st minute.
Unwilling to concede defeat, Galatasaray responded swiftly. Defender Davinson Sánchez restored parity in the 69th minute with a crucial goal.
The visitors then reclaimed the lead when Osimhen found the net again, securing his brace and taking his season’s goal tally to 16.
Just when Galatasaray appeared to have the upper hand, Kasimpasa was awarded a late penalty. Haris Hajradinovic stepped up and made no mistake, converting the spot-kick to secure a dramatic 3-3 draw in the final moments of the match.
Despite dropping points, Galatasaray remains in pole position at the top of the Süper Lig table with a seven-point lead.
However, Fenerbahçe, their closest rivals, have a game in hand, which could reduce the gap to just four points, making the title race even more intense as the season progresses.
Osimhen’s consistent performances continue to underline his significance to Galatasaray’s attacking force. His ability to deliver in crucial moments, particularly from the penalty spot, highlights his composure and effectiveness in front of goal.
