Mbappe scored 26 goals in 44 matches during a breakthrough campaign at Monaco last season and the 18-year-old had been heavily linked with a move away from the Stade Louis II following a string of barnstorming performances in the Champions League.

Mbappe started Monaco’s opening game of the 2017/18 Ligue 1 campaign against Toulouse on August 4 but has not featured for the French outfit since.
