Ayo Fadaka, Publicity Director and Party agent for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Ondo election has explained why the party failed to win the governorship election held on Saturday, November 26.
Reacting to the result of the election at the collation centre in Akure on Sunday, Fadaka, blamed the party’s failure on national corruption and vested interest of some groups who he said collaborated with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to sabotage the party’s effort.
Fadaka said “The PDP failed this election simply because INEC and some other interest groups decided to fail.”
He said that against the federal government’s call anti-corruption campaign, national interests were mobilised to rig the election, leading to the failure of the PDP.
“Powerful interest groups in this country, working hand-in-hand with INEC, have decided to do us in this election and they have achieved their aim.
“The desired, they decided and they have achieved their aim to hand over the PDP to APC”.
Fadaka said he could neither affirm satisfaction nor dissatisfaction over the outcome of the election.
