Ex-governor of Ogun state Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Sunday said he wants the peoples Democratic Party to reclaim power in 2019 and hence his intent to be the party’s national chairman.
“My ultimate goal is to work towards the victory of our party in the 2019 General Election and in all other elections in between,” the former governor said in a statement.
”To achieve this, I am prepared to work with all leaders of our party, various interest groups and individuals.”
Daniel further said in spite of the party’s defeat in 2015, the PDP remains the party to beat in Nigeria.
“I am sill proud to say that our party, PDP was and still remain the greatest political party, not only in Nigeria, but in the entire continent of Africa. We were one big happy family, representing the greatest hopes and aspirations of most Nigerians,” he said.
