The #BringBackourGirls movement alongside parents of the abducted Chibok girls on Thursday, insisted on meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
But their mission was unsuccessful as the President was said to be meeting with the visiting President of Benin, Thomas Boni Yayi.
The #BBOG group and Chibok parents led by former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, were addressed by Aisha Alhassan, Minister of Women Affairs.
Alhassan informed the group that it would be impossible to schedule a meeting with the President today, owing to the impromptu nature of the visit.
However, the #BBOG leaders and Chibok parents wouldn’t be deterred, which led to the intervention of the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, who assured them that they won’t go home empty handed.
As at the time of filing this report, the President has arrived to meet with the Chibok parents.
