A tragic incident occurred in Plateau State, Nigeria, on Friday night, where gunmen assailed a mining site in Bokkos Local Government Area, killing four youths and injuring five others, Okay.ng reports.
The victims, aged 20 and 21, were working at the mining site in the Batura community when the attack happened around 9 pm.
According to Sabastine Magit, President of the Butura Youth Movement, the gunmen spoke Fulani dialect and fled the scene before military personnel could respond.
This attack is the latest in a series of unprovoked assaults on the community, with over 20 members killed in the last month alone.
The deceased were identified as Bwefuk Musa, 21; Klingshak Dickson, 21; Promise Joshua, 20; and Nyam Abaka, 20. The community is shaken, and authorities have been contacted, but officials were unavailable for comment.
This incident has raised concerns about the ongoing violence in the region and the need for increased security measures to protect local communities.
