Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has dismissed claims circulating on social media that the president is indifferent to the hardships faced by Nigerians.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics program, Onanuga addressed the criticism and assured Nigerians that President Tinubu is focused on improving the economy and alleviating their struggles.
Reacting to the nickname “T-pain,” which some social media users have used to describe Tinubu, Onanuga clarified that the president is not aware of such labels and remains committed to his mission of economic recovery.
“The President does not read what is on social media,” Onanuga stated, adding, “Some people out of mischief just say somebody is a T-pain. He (Tinubu) is not T-pain.”
Onanuga emphasized that Tinubu feels the pain of Nigerians and is working hard to ensure relief for the citizens. He also noted that, despite challenges such as galloping inflation, the country is witnessing economic growth and an increase in revenues.
“The President has never shied away from telling Nigerians that he feels their pain and he is working very hard to make sure that he gives them some relief so that things will get better, and this country will get more prosperity,” Onanuga said.
He reiterated that President Tinubu’s goal is not to inflict pain on the citizens but to repair the economy and lead Nigeria to a more prosperous future.
