Starlink, the internet service company founded by Elon Musk, has announced a significant reduction in the price of its hardware in Nigeria.
According to a recent update released by Starlink on Wednesday, the price of the Starlink internet router has been slashed by 45%.
Okay.ng understands that previously sold at N800,000 as of April 9, the hardware is now available at N440,000.
The decision comes amid recent fluctuations in the value of the naira against the US dollar and other foreign currencies.
Notably, Starlink had implemented an increase in the hardware price to N800,000 in early March, citing currency devaluation as a factor.
However, despite the reduction in hardware cost, the monthly subscription fee for Starlink’s internet service remains unchanged at N38,000 per month.
