Jose Mourinho admits that the title race is over for Manchester United after their 2-1 loss to rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
Goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi ensured Pep Guardiola’s team opened an 11-point lead at the top of the table.
And speaking after the game, Mourinho said the title race was likely over for the Old Trafford side.
“Probably, yes,” he told BBC when asked if the race for the crown was over.
“Manchester City are a very good team and they are protected by the luck, and the gods of football are behind them.”
He, however, said City were lucky to have won the game. He accused the referee of making decisions in their favour.
Mourinho said: “I think they are a very good team, they are lucky, they have decisions in their favour.
“I’m pretty sure everyone is going to fight for points and try and reduce the distance, but the advantage is a very good one.”
