Ronaldo, 32, has just enjoyed one of his most successful seasons yet for Real Madrid.
The Portugal international scored 29 goals to help the Spanish giants win their first league title in five years.
And only two weeks ago he bagged a brace as they claimed back-to-back Champions League triumphs with a 4-1 win over Juventus.
But shock reports emerged last week that Ronaldo is ready to call time on his Real career.
He apparently wants to leave the Spanish capital after being accused of tax evasion.
And Perez, who has been re-elected to continue as Real president for the next four years, admits the news came as a surprise even to him.
Ronaldo is currently in Russia representing Portugal at the Confederations Cup.
And Perez says he will talk to the four-time Ballon d’Or winner on his return.
“I have not spoken with Cristiano Ronaldo,” he told Onda Cero .
“I heard of the Cristiano [his situation] by a newspaper that reported it.
“Cristiano has a contract and is a Real Madrid player.
“I have not spoken with Cristiano. I’ve heard everything from the newspapers.
“Life throws you unexpected situations but you must deal with them and find a solution.
“Cristiano has a €1bn release clause.
“All this is very strange, Cristian is a good guy, I have to talk to him and see what happens.”
