Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has advised President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against appointees who fail to deliver on their mandates.
El-Rufai made this statement during an interaction with journalists in Maiduguri on Monday, stressing the importance of holding officials accountable for their performance.
Addressing the issue, El-Rufai emphasized the need for President Tinubu to assess the performance of his appointees objectively.
He urged the President to demonstrate humility by replacing underperforming appointees with individuals capable of delivering results.
“You appointed a person into a position and he is not working according to the expectation, you should have the humility to tell him that I need a better person, go and do something else,” he said.
In addition, El-Rufai called for support and prayers from citizens to enable the administration to implement necessary reforms and improve governance.
“What we must do as citizens is to pray for our leaders for God to guide them to see or do what is right. For God to give them the humility to reverse themselves when necessary and do the right thing; that’s how society progresses,” he stated.
