Manchester United have made an initial approach to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.
The Independent is reporting that Manchester United have inquired about the Belgium international after the Red Devils ended their interest in Antoine Griezmann last week.
The same article states that Everton have quoted Manchester United a sum of £90m for the centre-forward as Manchester United look to improve their attacking options at the club.
The story goes on to say that Lukaku is Manchester United’s top target to fill the number nine role with Zlatan Ibrahimovic facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
Lukaku finished as the Premier League’s second-highest goal-scorer in the 2016-17 season after the 24-year-old scored 25 times in 37 games for the Toffees.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table after a disappointing season but the Red Devils did secure a place in the Champions League after winning the Europa League final.
