A woman in California, who was banned from using the bathroom for three hours, had no choice but to soil herself in front of customers.
The Wendy’s restaurant employee said that she intends to file a lawsuit, claiming that her managers implemented a no toilet policy during the lunch rush, aggravating her medical.
Maria Rivas said that she was denied access to the bathroom while working at the Wendy’s in Santee, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Rivas, who suffers from diabetes, repeatedly asked her supervisor permission to use the bathroom, but was told she could not.
Rivas said that she accidentally urinated on herself and the supervisor forced her to work for the rest of her shift, despite the health concerns.
Wendy’s confirmed that it has a policy that no one can move from their position unless a supervisor approves it. Wendy’s has offered several settlement offers, but Rivas has refused because they were not satisfactory.
She is still employed at the restaurant. Rivas is staying at the restaurant because she cannot afford to be laid off and unemployed.
