Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of Manchester United’s squad when it plays Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Recall that the 37-year-old star player took his frustration at being an unused substitute to a new level Wednesday by walking off the Old Trafford pitch before the end of a Premier League match with Tottenham Hotspur.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea.” A brief statement released by the club on its website read.
“The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture.”
Ronaldo left the bench area and walked down the tunnel in the 89th minute of United’s 2-0 victory, and Manager Erik ten Hag promised Wednesday to address the matter.
