The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday said the report on the missing 2016 Budget proposal will be submitted on Thursday by the committee saddled with responsibility to investigate the matter.
The open revelation that the budget was missing came through Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe after Saraki had informed the lawmakers that the copies of the budget will be made available to them and the debate on it will start by next week Tuesday.
According to Abaribe on Wednesday at plenary: “As you know that the matter that the budget is missing was awash all newspapers and this matter came up during our closed-door session yesterday (Tuesday).
“For us, we are worried where is our budget.”
But Saraki said the upper legislative chamber would wait for the committee, which was set up at Tuesday’s executive session to look into the matter and to get back to it on Thursday.
He said: “As we know, we are all part of the decision.
“We gave assignment to some people and they will come back tomorrow.”
The Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, on Tuesday denied that the budget was missing.
