Popular Afro-pop artiste, Adekunle Temitope, widely known as Small Doctor, revealed the tragic loss of his residence due to a fire incident. Confirming the unfortunate event via his Instagram story on Thursday, the singer assured fans that no lives were lost in the incident.
In a reflective tone, Small Doctor expressed his faith and positivity amidst the adversity, interpreting the property loss as a precursor to future blessings. He conveyed, “No pressure for the Lord is with me. No life was lost. Ile Alaafin to jo, ewa lo bu kun,” symbolizing that even a king’s house burning down can pave the way for abundant beautification.
The artist’s message, penned in a blend of Pidgin and Yoruba, concluded optimistically: “Iyanu mashele soonest. Mi o foh, I no break,” signifying hope for miraculous occurrences ahead and a steadfast resolve not to succumb to setbacks.
This unfortunate incident echoes a previous case in Nigeria’s entertainment sphere. On August 6, 2023, a fire engulfed the home of renowned comedian and actor Ayo Makun, also known as AY, situated in the Lekki area of the state. Firefighters intervened to contain the inferno that had wreaked havoc on the building, causing extensive damage. However, similar to Small Doctor’s situation, no casualties were reported despite the significant loss of property.
