According to Daily Trust, the deputy governor was not compelled to resign. The newspaper quoted a source as saying that Ahmed resigned voluntarily and “we will not hesitate to accept his resignation.”
Ahmed was stated to have submitted a copy of his resignation to the state House of Assembly but it was not read on the floor of the House during the sitting on Tuesday, November 13.
okay.ng gathered member of the state Home confirmed the receipt of the letter.
“It is good that he resigned honourably because he would save himself from unexpected humiliation and in addition save his relationship with the governor,” he stated.
