Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Sporting CP, has categorically denied any ongoing discussions or approaches from Manchester United amid recent speculation linking him to the English Premier League giants.
Despite reports suggesting that Amorim could potentially be in the running to replace under-fire United manager Erik ten Hag, the Sporting CP coach has refuted any such claims.
United’s lackluster start to the season has raised questions about Ten Hag’s future at the helm of the club, prompting rumors of potential managerial replacements.
Recent reports had hinted at the possibility of Amorim and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane being considered as potential successors for the struggling English side.
However, during a post-match press conference following Sporting CP’s 4-2 victory over Farense in the Portuguese League Cup, Amorim addressed the speculations surrounding his potential move to Old Trafford.
“This year I’m not going to go back to the same conversation as last year,” Amorim stated firmly, alluding to previous discussions about his potential departure.
“I’m not going to make any kind of comment on these situations.”
