Abdulrasheed Bawa, the recently suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been invited by the Department of State Security (DSS) for investigative activities.
The spokesperson of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, announced in a statement on Wednesday night that Bawa had arrived at the DSS headquarters a few hours ago in response to the invitation.
While specific details regarding the nature of the investigation were not disclosed, it is understood that it pertains to matters concerning Bawa himself.
It is important to note that Bawa’s suspension by President Bola Tinubu was motivated by “weighty allegations” of abuse of office, which prompted the need for a comprehensive investigation into his actions.
