Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has reacted to accusations made by a fashion designer, identified as @stitchesbyandra, who alleged that she, alongside Annie Idibia and Gabriel Anthony, owed millions for fashion services provided over a year ago.
The designer took to Instagram to air her grievances, stating that the debt has been outstanding for over 1 year and 2 months.
In a post on her Instagram stories, the designer wrote: “@toyin_abraham @annieidibial @gabrielanthonys, my patience is running out already. 1 year and 2 months. How can you be with someone’s millions and feel so reluctant?”
Reacting to the allegations on Friday night, Toyin Abraham took to Instagram to clarify her side of the story, denying any involvement in the claimed debt.
According to the actress, the issue stemmed from a misunderstanding during the production of her movie Malaika, where dresses were borrowed for a runway scene.
“Hello everyone, I want to address the recent allegations about an unpaid debt to a fashion designer. The situation has been completely misunderstood,” Toyin began in her statement.
She explained that during the shoot, dresses were borrowed from multiple designers, including Tiannah, and that Gabriel Anthony had introduced another designer, who contributed some dresses.
Toyin added that she had fully paid for a hairpiece she purchased, and the borrowed dresses were returned after the shoot through Gabriel.
“Upon seeing the allegations online, I called Gabriel immediately for clarification. Gabriel confirmed that he informed the designer that the dresses had already been returned to him and subsequently borrowed by someone else. Therefore, it is no longer my responsibility,” she concluded
