Zoho Corporation, a global technology company, announced the successful conclusion of an app-building competition held at the Ladies Can Tech event in Nigeria.
Organized by Harvoxx Tech Hub in partnership with Web Work Tools Limited, the competition aimed to encourage women’s participation in the tech industry.
Participants were required to create an app using Zoho Creator, Zoho Flow, and Zoho Analytics.
“We are delighted to have supported the Ladies Can Tech event and empowered women in the tech industry,” said Kehinde Ogundare, Country Manager, Zoho Nigeria.
“By supporting aspiring women interested in technology and facilitating the development of tech-enabled businesses, Zoho aims to foster a more inclusive and diverse tech community. This competition showcased the potential of Zoho’s developer apps in building solutions for business scenarios.”
Zoho Creator, a cloud-based platform with low-code capabilities, allowed participants to build customized web and mobile applications effortlessly, even without coding knowledge.
Its user-friendly interface provided a seamless app development experience, featuring drag-and-drop functionality and ready-made templates to streamline the process.
To prepare the participants, a three-day orientation program was conducted, providing comprehensive training on Zoho Creator, Zoho Flow, and Zoho Analytics.
After the orientation, 10 participants were selected to build their solutions. On June 24, during the Ladies Can Tech event, the selected teams had four hours to construct their apps and showcase them for the final round of the competition.
The competition yielded outstanding results, with the following winners announced:
1st place: Ms. Winnie Ngaji
2nd place: Ms. Princess Ganobi
3rd place: Ms. Sharon Uzu
The deserving winners received NGN100,000 Zoho Wallet credits, which can be utilized for a Zoho Creator Plus subscription, including Zoho Creator, Zoho Flow, and Zoho Analytics.
Additionally, the winners will benefit from dedicated support provided by the Zoho team.
