The Future Platform, an Atlanta-based group, has clarified that its endorsement of Seyi Tinubu for the 2027 Lagos governorship elections does not imply he is usurping the responsibilities of Vice President Kashim Shettima. The group asserts that Seyi Tinubu’s ongoing charitable activities across Nigeria are a continuation of his long-standing commitment to assisting the needy and poor, and should not be misinterpreted.
Afolabi Adeusi, Director of Publicity for The Future Platform, speaking from Atlanta, Georgia, also announced the rescheduling of their “All-White Endorsement Event” from March 4, 2025, to April 12, 2025.
The group reiterated its confidence in Seyi Tinubu’s ability to govern Lagos, stating, “As Nigeria’s political landscape gears up for 2027, The Future Platform in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, has identified Seyi Tinubu as a promising leader. In recognition of his leadership qualities, the group has finalised plans for an All-White Endorsement Event to support his potential candidacy for the Lagos State gubernatorial race in 2027, by God’s grace.”
Adeusi addressed criticisms suggesting that Seyi Tinubu’s charitable work is an attempt to assume the Vice President’s duties, stating, “We want to state clearly that such a claim is entirely false. Seyi Tinubu remains committed to his long-standing passion for humanitarian service for over two decades. Even before his father became President, he has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to uplifting the less privileged.”
The group described Seyi Tinubu as a visionary leader dedicated to building an inclusive society that transcends linguistic and ethnic barriers. They emphasized his role as a “bridge builder” and highlighted his commitment to community service, social development, and disaster relief efforts. “Seyi Tinubu is the game changer for Lagos state, and we have absolute confidence in his ability,” Adeusi concluded.
