Activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has pledged his support for Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the event he decides to contest the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Very Dark Man described Seyi Tinubu as a potential “bridge to make Nigeria work,” emphasizing his belief that Seyi’s leadership could pave the way for greater youth involvement in politics.
“For the past few months they have been playing around with the topic of Seyi Tinubu possibly becoming the governor of Lagos state in 2027,” the activist wrote.
“Although Seyi Tinubu has not acknowledged if he wants to campaign to be the next governor, if Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship, I’m going to campaign for him 100 percent.
“I don’t do politics but I’ll do politics because of Seyi Tinubu. Based on my calculation, Seyi Tinubu is a bridge to get something that I want, something that I believe will make Nigeria work.”
Very Dark Man argued that Seyi’s political style reflects his father’s strategic approach, which could usher in young leaders to replace the older generation in power.
“I have been studying Seyi Tinubu’s pattern, and he looks like someone who has his father’s type of political mentality.
“This is my opinion: if Seyi Tinubu becomes the governor, he will want to act like his father and strategically plant people that he can control. And that is how young people will come into the picture.
“He cannot put an old man in control; he will start looking for young people. My interest is that through this, old men will be removed from power, and power will enter the hands of the youths,” he added.
Despite the speculation and public endorsements, Seyi Tinubu has yet to officially declare any intention to run for office in the upcoming election.
