Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has successfully completed medical examinations ahead of his highly anticipated transfer to Al-Nassr.
According to reports by SkySport Germany, Bayer Leverkusen have agreed to a €60 million deal with the Saudi Pro League club for the 24-year-old. Boniface is expected to earn an impressive €15 million net per season at Al-Nassr.
The move comes amid reports of Al-Nassr seeking a replacement for Anderson Talisca, who is set to depart the Riyadh-based club. On Tuesday, Xabi Alonso, Bayer Leverkusen’s manager, confirmed that negotiations were underway, with Boniface at the center of the deal.
The timing of the transfer has surprised many, as it follows just a week after Boniface signed a contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen, committing to the Bundesliga champions until 2026.
Once finalized, Boniface will become Leverkusen’s second-most expensive departure in history, trailing only Kai Havertz, who joined Chelsea for €80 million five years ago.
The Nigerian international is set to join a star-studded lineup at Al-Nassr, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané, and Aymeric Laporte.
Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen in July 2023 for €20.5 million and made an immediate impact, scoring 14 goals in 23 league matches.
