Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to a €350,000-a-week contract with Chelsea, according to UEFA-accredited sports journalist Oma Akatugba.
Akatugba, who shared the update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, stated that Osimhen had initially demanded a weekly wage of €500,000 to make the move to Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea managed to negotiate the amount down to €350,000 per week.
Despite this reported agreement, Akatugba cautioned that the deal is not yet finalized, as there remains significant interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, who are prepared to offer even higher wages to lure the Nigerian striker.
“The Victor Osimhen transfer saga seems to be leaning toward a move to Chelsea,” Akatugba wrote. “According to my sources — not Victor or anyone from his camp — as of 11 p.m. last night, he agreed to a weekly wage of €350,000 with Chelsea.”
He added, “Initially, he sought €500,000 per week, but Chelsea persuaded him to accept the lower figure. However, Chelsea fans shouldn’t celebrate just yet, as this drama is far from over. The Saudi clubs are still in the race and are offering even more money.”
Osimhen, who has been in stellar form for Napoli, has attracted attention from top clubs across Europe and beyond, making his potential transfer one of the most closely watched moves in the current transfer window.
