Former Governor of Abia State, Sen. Theodore Orji, has described the electoral victory of Sen. Bukola Saraki as the President of the 8th Senate, as a proof that politics is all about negotiation and not war.
Orji, who spoke to newsmen after the adjournment of the first session of the 8th Senate in Abuja on Tuesday, expressed his confidence in Saraki to stabilise the senate.
Orji said that the PDP lawmakers decided to look beyond the political party of the newly elected Senate President to his personality and qualities.
He said, “What has happened today has shown us that politics is all about negotiation. It is not war always. When you negotiate, you give and take and things will work out well for us.
“He, Saraki, will stabilise the Senate. That is one of the major functions that he has to do.
“The new Senate President has said it; he will stabilise the Senate and when you stabilise the hallowed chamber, you have stabilised the country.”
